Privacy Policy

Basic policy for the protection of personal information

As stated in its Group Vision, SEIBU Railway Co., Ltd., (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") strives to contribute to the development of local communities and environmental protection and provide safe and comfortable services. In order to achieve these objectives, we realize that we need to gain the trust of our customers, shareholders, employees, and local communities as a member of society and promote the creation of a solid compliance system as our top management priority.

We also realize that the proper handling of personal information of our customers constitutes one of the core issues we should address toward the creation of our compliance system. We, therefore, declare our basic policy for the protection of personal information as follows, put it into practice in our business activities, and make ongoing improvements to it.

Basic Policy for the Protection of Personal Information
  1. 1. We shall use the personal information obtained from our customers only for the purposes stated below:
Railway-related Business
  • To communicate matters related to the reservations, sales, losses, reissues, and refunds of limited express tickets, passes, and others to customers or confirm the facts.
  • To contact customers about matters related to lost articles to confirm the fact.
  • To meet the requests and needs of customers
  • To communicate information to the residents along the railway network
  • To secure safety in the railway facilities
  • To maintain records of accidents that have occurred in the railway facilities
Related Businesses (real estate, shops, advertising, and tourism)
  • To conduct the sale of real properties and the management of leased objects
  • To contact and check with customers who purchase goods and services at our shops
  • To secure safety at our shops
  • To meet the needs and requests of customers using our shops
  • To communicate information related to our events and giveaways to applicants
  • To communicate information related to our tourist facilities and services to users
  • To meet the needs and requests of customers using our tourist facilities
  • To communicate information to residents living near our tourist facilities
  • To secure safety in our tourist facilities
  • To contact and check with customers who have purchased non-life insurance, which the Company manages on a consignment basis from insurance companies, about matters related to the insurance and accompanying/related services.
  1. 2. We will use the personal information obtained from our customers only for the purposes communicated to customers or announced publicly. If we should need to use it beyond the scope of stated purposes, we would inform our customers of it.

  2. 3. We will jointly use customers' personal information that we hold only for the purposes specified below:

    (1) Personal information items for joint use
    Customers' name, address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address.
    (2) Joint User
    PRINCE HOTELS, INC.
    (3) Purposes of joint use
    • To communicate information related to services and products provided by the Company and group companies
    • To conduct surveys related to service improvement, such as use of and satisfaction at services and products provided by the Company and group companies.
    • To ensure emergency contact with customers
    • To meet the needs and requests of customers
    (4) Persons responsible for joint use of personal information among group companies

  3. 4. The Company shall establish a system to manage personal information properly in an effort to prevent the loss, destruction, falsification, and leak of personal information. It shall not disclose customers' personal information to a third party without prior consent of the customers unless otherwise required by law and other special reasons.
  4. 5. When the Company provides customers' personal information to outside organizations after obtaining customers' consent, it will require the outside organizations via agreements to manage it in a similarly strict manner.
  5. 6. The Company shall strive to achieve the proper management of personal information by conducting employee training for handling personal information properly and assigning persons in charge of personal information in the related divisions or sections.
  6. 7. The Company shall comply with personal information protection laws and regulations and act in accordance with the internal rules regarding the protection of personal information.
  7. 8. In tune with changes in the social situation, the Company shall strive to improve its internal rules and management system for the protection of personal information on an ongoing basis.
  8. 9. The Company shall respect the rights of customers to their personal information and when the customers involved request disclosure, amendment, or removal, the Company shall respond to them within the appropriate scope and for a reasonable period of time.
